Gratitude: a transformative experience

A stressful week but unaware of what was causing and perpetuating it. For days there was the build up of an inner frustration and an imbalancing pressure. Then, on a day off, I sat down briefly, and wondered about life.

What presented to me was “gratitude”. Not the idea of gratitude or my many plans to practice being grateful as an exercise - but a down-to-earth, honest, experience of “being grateful”. It kind of took my breath away and at the same time, it pushed out some of the other emotions that had been sitting there creating the stress in the first place.

In actually “feeling” the gratitude I have for my life and all that is in it - I found that I immediately let go of the other “stuff”. I realised that it is okay to have what I have; to acknowledge abundance, and just how clearing an experience that can be. If you can take a minute or five out of your busy schedules - I highly recommend it.

Namaste.
